The national Green Tourism Incentive Programme (GTIP) is to offer grant funding for small tourism businesses wanting to retrofit their facilities with energy efficiency systems. The programme has been developed by the Department of Tourism in partnership with the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC).
The extent of grant funding tourism businesses qualify for will depend on the results of an energy efficiency audit together with the information on the transformation status and size of the business. The programme will involve a cost-sharing of retrofitting. Businesses will be funded between 30% and 90% of the cost of approved solutions, but this will be capped at a maximum.
The first application window will open November 2017. More information on the Green Tourism Incentive Programme (GTIP) visit the IDC website.
